Press On: Choosing Redemption Over Retreat
It’s go tome today! I’ve dreaded this day for a while, but I’m ready. In preparation for today I’ve been reading through almost 3 years of my devotionals I’ve written, seeing how I/we got here, and came across this one from 2018. I love it, so it’s worth rereading. I hope you don’t mind...This life isn’t easy, in fact it’s hard. We all have struggled and we all have failed but we must move on...“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 3:12-14 Too often, after our greatest failures, we want to shrink back and hide – avoid confrontations and people. Real men own up to their failures and find redemption. This is where we find our true character. In the thick of our greatest messes, we are given a choice – retreat or repent and restore.I have chosen to own it (and it’s been a lot), repent and restore...what will you chose?Be Nice, Grace Wins!

Not a Verdict
Job was righteous and suffered. Jesus said the sun rises on the evil and the good. Suffering is not a verdict on your standing with God. We all suffer. The reward is eternal.

Comforted to Comfort
The way out of suffering rarely looks like what we imagined. Sometimes His plan is to remain in it and stand under its weight. And the comfort we receive becomes comfort we can give.
