Strengthening Faith: Finding Answers in God's Word
I had a great conversation with a young man yesterday about his faith in Jesus. You see, like all of us, our faith gets challenged daily by non believers, false profits and believers alike. If we are not careful, it can cause us to have questions about our faith and really lead to some internal conflict. But here’s the deal. Just like any relationship, if we want it to flourish, we have to spend time in it and with it. We can’t just ride along and think it will just “happen”, we’ve got to put in the work. A lot of times in our walk with Christ, that work comes from asking questions and seeking answers in scripture. Like I said to him yesterday, it’s the key to unlocking the enemy’s playbook.I think of it a bit like a football couch. We can wish our team to win all we all we want but come game time, without preparation, we aren’t taking our best team in the field. So a good couch studies game tape, researches the opponents team and puts in the work to prepare for that game. That’s not unlike what we should do when we face our enemy and our doubt. We have the game tapes and the play book of our enemy, we just have to go look for it…the answers are there. When we look into God’s Word, we see that He will take care of us. He is El Shaddai, the God who is more than enough, and He has promised to provide everything His children need, no matter what’s happening all around us.“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:6-7 One of the most quoted scriptures in the Bible, for good reason. When you’re confused, threatened and have doubts. Talk to God, ask for the wisdom to seek His answers and know where to look. Be Nice. Grace wins.
