The Most Expensive Gift
Grace. What is it exactly? I mean, I sign off with "Grace Wins" every day, but what exactly am I talking about?
In the book of Romans, Paul tells us that we can't receive God's favor or become righteous by works alone. Simply obeying the rules wouldn't get us there. So God sent His Son Jesus to die a horrible death to pay for our sins. In doing that, He extended His grace to all who believe and have faith in Him.
"The righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."
Romans 3:22-24
Faith is putting the weight of your life on something you believe in and trust. Paul is saying that for now, in this day and time, there's a new way of standing right before God, and that is through faith. Righteousness with God is not earned.
All of us have sinned and failed. Not one of us can say we obeyed all His laws perfectly. Not one. But that's okay. We are justified by God's grace. Being justified means we're declared right with God. Made right. Cleared.
So here's what we learn.
Grace is the most expensive gift, given freely to the one who puts his faith in Jesus.

Be Nice. Grace Wins.

Like a Father's Arm
Today is short and sweet because God's love is simple. His love endures forever. I felt it yesterday at treatment, like a father's arm around a son. I am humbled with gratitude.

Cancel the Debt
Forgiven people should be forgiving people. Forgiveness is a decision to cancel the debt, regardless of whether the other person admits, apologizes, or even knows. Who can you release today?

Not Earned
Confidence in our salvation doesn't come from our good works, it comes from God's grace. Our good works are the result of our faith, not a requirement for it.
