The Power of Words: Speaking Life or Death
Let’s roll over hump day with a thought about the words that come out of our mouths. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”Proverbs 18:21 ESVYou see, words can be the fruit of our thought and our hearts and can be used to encourage and lift up others or they can be the poison that can destroy others. Words are one of God’s holy gifts to humanity, and we should use them as if they were Gods own words...carefully and with reverence. But we don’t always use our words well. We often speak without thought. (We’ve met right?) We say hateful words and blaspheme, transforming the sacred act of speaking into something we regret later. We speak deceptively and we can forget to “be nice”. We use words to curse, tear down, discourage, blame, and judge. A hard no can fly from our mouth and crush people, while a warm yes can be life altering. So let’s pay attention to what we say the rest of the week. Give some extra thought to what you’re saying. I will. Are the words you're using speaking life or death? Be Nice, Grace Wins!

Reluctant Heroes
No hero in the Bible ever set out to be one. Mary, David, Abraham, they just did what was in front of them. Walk humbly with your God. That's the whole thing, isn't it?

A Love for Truth
When you tell lies, you're not just lying to others, you're lying to yourself, and lying to God. Jesus called lying Satan's native language. Let your love for God be accompanied by a love for truth.
