Being an Effective Witness: Living Like Jesus
So I’ve been reading through Philippians and talking about how we need to get to work to spread the word of Jesus. It’s been enlightening reading about Paul and his struggles and his witness. But it’s been brought up to me and asked, “how exactly do we be an effective witness?”Well, look at it like this, Jesus provided an example of how God wants us to live. He embodies the character of what God wants us to have. So, the short answer is, be like Jesus! Ha, I know, easier said than done. But we all have a testimony that is unique to us and needs to be shared. You see, it’s God’s character that he wants to develop in our lives and to be observed by others. We can only do this through our personal relationship with Jesus. Kind of like the branch that draws its life from the vine, we should grow in our relationship with Jesus so when we bear fruit it shows our relationship with Jesus. What’s cool is, when we are successful, this can be noticed by both believers and non-believers. We are spreading the gospel of Jesus by attraction not promotion. When Gods love is flowing through us, we become a great witness to His grace. So be ready man, someone may be observing and inquire of you when you least expect it. Your personal testimony of salvation and of God’s wonderful ongoing work in your own life is a great starting point.Be Nice. Grace wins.

Street Cred
Our trials build credibility in our testimony, street cred in Christ. You wouldn't take flying lessons from someone who's never been in the cockpit. Paul wrote about standing firm from a prison cell.

Doers, Not Just Hearers
Many people walk away from church because they think Christians are hypocrites. Hypocritical moments happen, but a hypocritical lifestyle is a problem. Let's be doers, not just hearers.
