The Only Bible They'll Read

I want to share with you a message that I heard this week that had me step back and take an honest look at my life, maybe we all should.

If someone followed you around all day, would they find Jesus?

This is the question I want you to wrestle with. If someone didn't know Jesus, and they followed you for twenty-four hours, watching how you talked to people, how you treated people, what you posted, would your life lead them to Jesus? Not to church. Not to a list of rules. Not to your favorite preacher. Would your life lead them to Jesus?

If someone followed you from your kitchen to your job, from your phone screen to your prayer life, if there is one, would they see somebody just surviving? Or would they see somebody living on mission?

Would they say, "Wow, they've got peace I don't have. They've got joy I don't understand. They've got grace that's not normal"? Or would they say, "They're living just like everybody else"?

Paul understood this better than anyone.

"You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all men. And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."

2 Corinthians 3:2-3

Here's the truth. You might be the only Bible some people read. At least initially.

So what story are they reading through your life?
