What Are You Really Talking About? Sharing Your Story
So it’s always fun to watch the Super Bowl, commercials and the half time show. It’s what everyone will be talking about for the next day or two. Great game too. But let’s take a minute and think about what we are always “talking about”. If you’re like most people, and I assume you are, you’re talking about work, kids, your round of golf, relationships etc. In fact, I bet there are a few subjects that we just don’t stop talking about because we love them so much. For me, it’s motocross and racing. I genuinely love what I do, it’s a passion and I can’t wait to get on the bike again. But let’s stop for a second and consider something. Are these “things” really the most important things in our lives? I’m mean, I’m pretty confident that a dirt bike didn’t save my soul from sin and promise me eternity...did your golf, kids or work do that? Doubt it. “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,”1 Peter 3:15 I’m pretty sure you get my point now. I think we need to be locked and loaded and excited to share our story with others. I feel like we should be so excited that it’s the most important topic we can talk about. So why don’t we?My guess is maybe it’s not “cool” or accepted in Pop culture to talk about Jesus. Well, I can tell you this, I’m going to talk about him and I’m going to share my story. It’s the testimony God made just for me and He has made it clear that He wants us to go and make disciples of others. So here is my challenge to you this week. It’s a two part challenge. First, reflect on your own salvation and think about how you can tell your story. Second, think about who you know that needs to hear it and go tell them!Be nice, Grace Wins!FMJ
