You Are Where You Are for a Reason
I want to pause today in talking about gratitude and shift for a moment and talk about our call to The Great Commission. You see, I had a great talk last night with an old friend and we discussed his current role and where he was and how it was affecting his witness. Well, here is what I think when it comes to where you “are” and what you can do with it. Embrace it. You see, there are no coincidences in God plan. Everything is masterfully laid out and perfectly orchestrated. You are where you are for a reason. So take the opportunity WHERE YOU ARE to serve the Lord and do work. I’ve read Mathew many times and I can’t seem to find anywhere in there where it says you have to have a masters in theology or minister to a congregation of thousands...it’s just not in there. Pastors love talking about the gospel, but you know what’s even more powerful? When laypeople share the Word. Pastors get paid for what they do, and skeptics will assume that they are just performing for the money, building the business from which they derive their income. When regular people talk about Jesus, it can be much more powerful and believable because they are doing it for free. They don’t get commissions. Their words don’t need to be fancy or full of theological terms...which works great for me because I probably couldn’t spell them all. Simple talk from the heart is the best. You are the best!Be as excited to share the news of the Gospel as you are the 50% off you just got on a new outfit or TV. Someone very close to you needs to hear it. Tell them. Be Nice, Grace Wins.
