When God Is Silent: Growing Faith in the Quiet
So I’ve been reading-thinking about prayer and when God is listening. Does he take a break from listening? Naw, I think He’s always there...But how do we react when God is silent? You see, God uses silence to draw out faith. Great faith. When God is silent, do we listen to voices that question ou...

Your Story Matters: Share What God Has Done
“And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent around to all that region and brought to him all who were sick and implored him that they might only touch the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well.”Matthew 14:35-36This was a story of a simple man who’d share wh...
- Pleasing God
Seeking God's Approval Over Human Validation
I don’t know whether it’s getting older or my growing desire to be closer to God, but I can say I seek more now to please Him than I do others. I think so anyhow, but it hasn’t always been that way. Who are you trying to please or impress? You see, we live in such a different world now where we a...
- Eternal Life
Path to Eternal Joy: Share the Hope You Know
Jesus tells Martha, “who ever lives and believes in me will never die”...“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”Psalms 16:11 I get your life right now may be getting hammered with frustrations and brokenness...
- Reputation
A Good Name Over Great Riches
How’s your reputation?“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.”Proverbs 22:1 A bad reputation has a ruthless way of catching up to you. And it doesn’t matter if you have a great family, if you are in good health, or if you are flush with cash...
- Heart Guidance
Don't Follow Your Heart, Guide It
I probably enjoy social media a little bit more than I should, but to me it’s can be sad, hilarious, frustrating and many times disappointing. But I can’t help but see a reoccurring theme in so many of these “inspirational-motivational” posts. They all seemed centered around “trust your heart”, “...
- Money
The Lie of Money as Success
I’m really enjoying reading into what success is and is not in God’s eyes and how it’s become so lost on us. While I certainly don’t think a pursuit of financial well being is unrighteousness, I think the manner in which we go about it and the priority is has become in our culture is....“for we b...
- Worldly Wisdom
World's Success vs God's Wisdom
Close your eyes for a minute and imagine that you’re continuing down your current path with your current definition of success. You see it? Stay with me. You keep working as hard as you’re working. And you keep prioritizing the things you’re prioritizing. What’s your life look like in say 5 years...
- Redemption
From the Pit to the Rock: God's Redemption
Pull yourself together, seriously. “He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.”Psalms 40:2-3 I have a past...

When Life Gets Hard, God Still Loves You
I see a lot of post and stories in the media (that which I allow myself to see) and people seem, generally speaking, so mad and angry. Many times I see them questioning God or if there even is one. Why do we sometimes get frustrated or angry with God? Let’s face it, we all do it. We lose a job pr...

Stop Wasting Time, Start Living Your Purpose
I’ve made the decision a long time ago to stop wasting time with things that keep me from being who and what God’s calling me to be, it’s just exhausting...Don’t look at others’ lives and believe for one moment that they are able to do more because they have more than you. We all have the same nu...
- Transformation
Change Your Mind, Change Your Life
Could things be the way they are because you are the way you are? What’s one thing can you change that can change everything? It’s simple. If you want to change, you change the way you think. So many people want to have a better life, but they continuously do the same thing over and over. So many...
- Purpose
Living Intentionally: Start Today, Not Tomorrow
Let’s shift gears a little and talk about where we are going? This time next year, where do you want to be? Who do you want to be? What type of follower of Christ, spouse or parent do you want to be? Whatever the answers are to those questions, know this: God’s calling you to live in the NOW & st...
- Forgiveness
Forgiveness: The Path to Freedom from Bitterness
Last night my wife and I were “Netflix and chillin’”, I was going thumbing through some older devotionals and I came across something I wrote or shared a while ago. I am sure I’ve shared it before but it’s definitely worth sharing again.“Harboring unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecti...

Faith: The Assurance of Things Hoped For
We talk about our faith everyday. We lean on our faith to get through everyday. Our faith gives us hope. But what is Faith really? In Hebrews it tells us;“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”Hebrews 11:1 That’s it. It’s believing in something we canno...
- Salvation
Why We're Still Here After Being Saved
You know, its the most amazing gift knowing we have been saved and promised eternal life in Heaven. But have you ever wondered why we are still here since we’ve been saved and promised salvation? I have, to the extent I find myself anxiously awaiting my turn. But I think I know why we are still h...
- Joy
True Joy Beyond Politics and Circumstances
I was thinking last night about our country and how exhausting it can be if you let the politics absorb you. “Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!”Psalms 32:11 One of the the best parts about being an American is you have the right to life, l...
- Grace
Freedom from Guilt Through God's Grace
When friends come to us, it’s our chance to bear witness to the Grace God has shown us. It’s our chance to share what has so freely and undeservingly been given us...it’s also a chance to remember the enemy is closer than we think. That in itself gave me pause to think. You know, we try all sorts...
- Gods Love
God Knows You and Loves You Anyway
It’s not a throwback Thursday, but I was talking over the weekend about this very topic and it reminded me of this one I wrote from several years ago...God knows you, he made you. So who are trying to kid? Why are we trying to hide from God? He can read our mind... “You know when I sit down and w...

This Isn't My World: Finding Peace in God's Control
You know, it’s tough when things don’t go the way we think they will. All of us struggle every day to try to get control of our environments. We try to build financial wealth so that we won't suffer need. We try to take care of our health so we don't feel pain or suffer illness. We try to manage...

Stop and Really Listen: What a Friend We Have in Jesus
Every once in a while I will stop, take a breath and really listen. What I mean is we live in such a fast paced world and our brains pick up on things that provide stimulus to us an it deciphers what we are hearing or reading without us consciously really reading or hearing it. You dig what I’m t...

Having Church with Friends: Faith in Fellowship
“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."”Matthew 18:20 So, I love it when I am talking with friends, making new ones or talking with people I have a professional relationship with and our shared Faith comes up. I love it when this happens, and to be honest, it happ...

Let Go and Let God: The Refreshing Power of Repentance
I was thinking last night about my life and how it has changed over the years. It’s funny, things that I thought I couldn’t do without are oddly no longer part of my life. You know, thinking about our past and learning to let God show us a new way of life has me thinking about repentance. We all...

Let Your Light Shine: Living Credible Faith
Should we care what people think of us? Should we care what we post on social media? I mean, we hear all the time, “God’s judgement is the only one that matters”, right? While I agree with the later, I disagree. We should care what others see from us, it’s our light. As disciples of Christ, we ne...
